  • What is Drug Testing?

    Drug Tests looks for the presence of one or more illegal or prescription drugs in your urine, blood, breath, saliva, hair or sweat.

    However, saliva, breath testing is also also available.  And blood tests can be ordered through a third party laboratry.

    Drug screening is used to detect drugs or alcohol inside a persons system. Drug testing can be used for;

  • Why Do I need a Drug test?

    You may need a drug test due to your employment or to comply with your bail conditions in order to participate in organized sports, legal matters and in rehabilitation programs.

  • Are Drug Tests Mandatory?

    Depending on the circumstances drug testing can be made mandatory. 


    If you have signed a drug testing policy then you must comply by this agreement.  Failure to do so, may terminate employment. 


    If you have court orders in place where as you must provide random drug testing you must comply.

  • What Happens During a Drug Test?

    A drug test can be completed in house or on-site. You will be provided instructions on the "Clean Catch" method. 


    The clean catch method includes the following steps:


    1. Wash your hands
    2. Clean your genital area with a cleansing pad given to you by your provider. Men should wipe the tip of their penis. Women should open their labia and clean from front to back.
    3. Start to urinate into the toilet.
    4. Move the collection container under your urine stream.
    5. Collect at least an ounce or two of urine into the container, which should have markings to indicate the amounts.
    6. Finish urinating into the toilet.
    7. Return the sample container to the lab technician or health care provider.

    In certain instances, your drug tester may need to be present while you provide your sample.


    For a blood test for drugs, you will go to a lab to provide your sample.

  • How Long Does it Take to Complete a Drug Test?

    The Drug Test can take anywhere between 30 minutes- 45 minutes. This includes the administration and the drug test.

Lost productivity due to alcohol and other drug abuse has been estimated to cost employers in Australia $16 billion annually.

Alcohol is the second greatest cause of drug-related hospitalisations in Australia.

About six million Australians aged 14 years and over have used an illegal drug.
