About us

People do not want advice. They want to be understood.

Advance Minds was built for people who have already tried the obvious things and need something that actually holds.

Our professional journey

Advance Minds was created in response to a clear and growing need for more meaningful, accessible and holistic therapeutic support.

We recognised that when people reach out for help, they are not simply looking for advice. They are looking for understanding, guidance, and real change that lasts.

We take a whole-person approach, focused on each client's emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. Every journey is different, which is why support is built around where you actually are rather than where a model says you should be. The aim is to make change feel achievable, never overwhelming.

What sets us apart

Our team is made up of fully qualified and accredited professionals. What sets Advance Minds apart is the depth of lived experience many of our therapists bring alongside those qualifications.

Having faced and worked through their own challenges, our therapists offer clinical expertise and real understanding at the same time. That combination is what lets clients feel heard and respected from the first session rather than the fifth.

It is also why we are committed to breaking the stigma that still surrounds asking for help. There is no judgement here. Only support, guidance, and a genuine commitment to helping people move forward.

How we are set up

A collective of specialists

Advance Minds is not one therapist trying to cover everything. Each practitioner works in the area they know best, which means you get someone who does your particular thing all day rather than occasionally.

Seven specialists

Addiction, trauma, women's counselling, men's mental health, children and adolescents, life coaching, nutrition.

Matched, not queued

You will be allocated to the therapist who best meets your needs once you have booked. No triage call, no waitlist to get onto a waitlist.

Clinically overseen

Led by Shuv Homsi, a Clinical Supervisor registered with the Australian Counselling Association.

Where we work

Our rooms are in Bankstown, in south-western Sydney, and you are welcome to come in and sit down with someone face to face.

Most of our sessions, though, happen by secure video. That is deliberate. It means you can see the right specialist for what you are dealing with even if they are not the closest one to you, and it means an appointment can fit around work, family and travel rather than competing with them.

Either way you are seeing the same practitioners, working to the same standards.
